Strata Leadership organizational mission and vision for being a coach education provider and the learning philosophy that guides delivery and program management:

Strata Leadership’s mission is to “Elevate Life at Work.”

Our vision is to advance the field of coaching by creating a community where learners have access to a transformational learning experience designed to equip them with the mindset and knowledge required to coach with character and competence.

Our learning philosophy is to apply a student-centered approach in all aspects of the learning experience. From the earliest planning stages through the delivery of each class module, we actively and consistently seek ways to anticipate student needs and enhance the student experience. We embrace a growth mindset that guides our overall approach to program design, delivery, and management. Strata is committed to creating an environment conducive to self-reflection, personal growth, and the development of new competencies.

Disability/Discrimination/DEIJ Statement

As ICF Members and Credential-holders, we are committed to the shared vision of making coaching an integral part of a thriving society. Our mission is to expand the advancement of coaching among external coaches, internal coaches, and workplace leaders. We will regularly reflect on our blind spots and be aware of opportunities for improvement. We will acknowledge the challenges that many coaches and coaching clients face due to systemic problems in their communities.

As members of the ICF community, we ascribe to the core values of integrity, excellence, collaboration, and respect. The foundation of these values is a shared commitment to diversity, inclusion, accessibility, belonging, and justice.

We will place diversity, inclusion, accessibility, belonging, and justice at the forefront of every decision. We will value and respect the unique talents, insights, and experiences that every coach and client brings to the world.

Complaint/Grievance Policy

Strata Leadership is committed to a workplace and service offering where all stakeholders feel fairly treated. Internally, this includes a work environment with a growth mindset that values and respects every team member’s unique talents, insights, and experiences. We pledge to extend this culture of value, respect, and fairness to all clients.

Strata Leadership recognizes that there are times when the need arises for employees or clients to express concerns or complaints formally. To do so, please utilize the procedures below.

Step 1: Informal discussion

Concerns should first be discussed with the personnel involved and given an opportunity to resolve the issue. Our hope is for many concerns to be resolved informally and before something escalates.

Step 2: Written complaint

If you are not satisfied with the response from the informal discussion, submit a written complaint to the senior manager involved and copy hr@strataleadership.com if you are an employee and operations@strataleadership.com if you are a client. Include the following:

  • An explanation of the grievance detailing all previous efforts to resolve the issue.
  • Detailed information regarding your dissatisfaction with the response.

We are committed to acknowledging receipt within one business day and following up within three business days.

Refund Policy

Because of the nature of securing and committing the time of faculty, incurred planning, lost opportunity, and other related costs, any cancellation (without incurring a fee), requires 120-day advance notice to Strata Leadership. Any cancellation between 90-120 days before the first scheduled course date will be billed at 50% of the total fee. Any training days canceled between 1-90 days before the scheduled date will be billed at 100% of the total fee.

If a course day is canceled due to natural disasters (earthquakes, extreme weather, or fires), human events (war, riots, or other significant upheavals), or performance failures outside of the control of Strata (canceled flights, labor disputes other than those of the contractual parties, disruptions in essential services such as electricity, communications or other services), the program can be rescheduled within 90 days without penalty to either party. If the training day is not rescheduled within 90 days then, only at the request of the client, a refund of 50% will be extended.

Transfer of Credit Policy

If a student has completed ICF-accredited training from a different program, Strata Leadership will accept those training hours when they provide proof of their completion, and it is verified.

Illness Policy

The curriculum for Strata Leadership’s coach education is carefully designed to meet the contact hours required for ICF certification. Full participation and 100% attendance are required to complete the program. In the event of an untimely illness that prevents attendance and participation, you will need to repeat the course. Please see the refund policy for more information.

Ethical Marketing Agreement

Ethical standards are an integral aspect of an ICF coaching credential, and coaching ethics are taken very seriously. Ethics reinforce trust and the credibility of our organization and the profession and provide a foundation for building effective relationships with our clients.

The ICF Code of Ethics informs our coach education governance, policies and procedures, and how we deliver on our portfolio of activities.

This includes ensuring no conflicts of interest exist between our roles delivering coach education and our professional business interests including being clear at which times we are representing ICF policies, which times we are representing Strata Leadership, safeguarding student’s privacy and information, protecting the profession, and operating in full transparency.

For our programming, we require all faculty and presenters to avoid sales and marketing campaigns (beyond sharing contact information with interested parties) and to be clear about their interests.

When pursuing partnerships or relationships with organizations, we assess alignment of values and mission, and take a holistic view towards understanding any potential conflicts of interest between members’ business interests, undermining the coaching market and business opportunities, and other potential impacts from any endeavor, whether positive or negative.

The ICF Code of Ethics also informs how we represent ourselves and interact with one other in building a strong, supportive community. This includes:

  • Accurately stating your professional qualifications and coaching credentials. For example, not claiming to have an ICF credential unless you have passed the ACC, PCC, or MCC exam.
  • Accurately stating our association with the ICF, including accreditation status, course names, course details, course contact hours, what the courses will help the learner do, and with what ICF certification/credential the course is associated.
  • Adhering to our community guidelines. Networking and building a professional bench of colleagues and potential referrals is an objective of most coaches and something we encourage. Doing it respectfully and in the appropriate form is important. Our virtual groups (LinkedIn, Facebook, WhatsApp, and others) are places to share information, make requests, encourage each other, and contribute to the community. They are not places to advertise your services or events. Instead, our Community Calendar is provided as the platform to share events and opportunities with the membership.
  • Respecting one another’s intellectual property. If someone generously shares knowledge and time with the community, we, as coaches, cite information as appropriate and only use others’ materials with the appropriate permissions.
  • Disclosing business interests and affiliations. Many of us work for or collaborate with the growing number of companies, platforms, certification vendors, and others in the coaching industry. When recommending tools or resources to colleagues, it is important that any relationships you may have with a specific vendor be disclosed. It’s perfectly acceptable (and appreciated!) to recommend a book you read or a tool you used that you like. But, it’s not acceptable to have an active role in selling, referring, or creating offerings in the marketplace that you are recommending without stating your business relationship and personal interest.

We appreciate how active and committed our employees, faculty, and students are and work in service to build a thriving, dynamic community built on transparency, trust, and respect.

Strata Leadership statement on ethics, integrity, and transparency:

Ethical standards are an integral aspect of an ICF coaching credential, and coaching ethics are taken very seriously. Ethics reinforce trust and the credibility of our organization and the profession, as well as provide a foundation for building powerful relationships with our students.

For our programming, we require all faculty and presenters to deliver content, provide feedback and coach mentoring with full integrity. If at any point, we realize any member of our community has operated without integrity, we will inform any involved parties and follow the ICF Code of Ethics to correct the issue.

The ICF Code of Ethics also informs how we represent ourselves and interact with one other in building a strong, supportive community. This includes:
